Steam with a new record of logged in players!

Despite the efforts of other platforms Steam it is still on top and there is no indication that it will change any time soon. Epic Store for the New Year he was giving away the Tomb Raider trilogy for free (you can still add it to your account until January 6, if you haven’t already), and the unshakable giant Gabe Newell meanwhile, he was breaking popularity records.

More specifically, on January 2, 2022 SteamDB, i.e. a service that collects data about this platform, has registered 27,942,036 users logged in simultaneously on Steam. Of these, 8.2 million people had a game running on the platform.

Steam It has been breaking records serially for some time, and the upward trend is visible to the naked eye. In November 2021, the platform surpassed the first time 27 million users logged in simultaneouslyand now, less than two months later, was using it together nearly 28 million users.

Interestingly, when it comes to the ratio of logged in to players, the record was not broken this time. On April 4, 2020, it was higher – then 24.5 million people were logged in, of which 8.1 million people were actively playing something.

You can see the graph below an active number of users throughout the existence of Steam:

An interesting gateway to the minds of players is the top 10 titles at the time the record was set. He was in the first place CS GOso the game from 2012. A year older than that, she came second Dota 2and the podium was closed PUBG from 2017.

Then, in fourth place, we had a fairly fresh title – Apex Legends (2019). Could not be missing too GTA 5 (5th place, premiere in 2015). Only two games released in the past calendar year made it to the top 10, viz New World (2021) i Football Manager 2022 (2021). The conclusion is simple – players like what is old but good.

What do you think about all of this? Maybe you were one of those people who together set a new record on January 2? Be sure to let us know in the comments!
