For co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers in the new episodes of the science fiction series we will see a “big moment”.
The co-showrunner of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Henry Alonso Myers has revealed some anticipation on the second season of the spin-off series of Star Trek: Discoverypromising that the first meeting between Captain Kirk (played by Paul Wesley) and Spock (Ethan Peck) will be a “great moment”.
How will Kirk and Spock meet in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2?
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tells the adventures of Christopher Pike, Spock and Numero Uno (Anson MountEthan Peck and Rebecca Romijin) as they push themselves to the limits of what is known and possible. Chatting with TVLine during the Hollywood Critics Association’s TV Awards, Myers talked about Captain Kirk we will see in the series, who will be very different from what we have known so far in the canon of Star Trek.
“He is not yet the person he will be,” Myers explained to the lieutenant of the USS Farragut. “He has things to understand before becoming that person.”. Wesley’s Kirk made its debut in the season one finale, released in the US on Paramount + in July; however, the character we saw was to be placed in an alternate timeline. The second season, however, will introduce the “real” Kirk, and his first meeting with his future best friend Spock is what excites fans the most. “We think about it every day,” Myers said of how the writers decided to lay the foundations for Kirk and Spock’s special friendship. “The moment they finally meet will be a great time and we hope people will appreciate what we have in mind.”
