Success with ‘Acorda Pedrinho’, Jovem Dionísio is announced as an attraction at Rock in Rio

The Curitiba-based band Jovem Dionísio, from the hit “Acorda pedrinho”, will perform on the Supernova stage of Rock in Rio on September 10th. The group, which performed this weekend at Rock in Rio Lisboa, will play for the first time at Rock in Rio Brasil, on stage in partnership with Filtr Live, which follows the concept of “Fábrica dos Sonhos”.

With new talents in national music, the set mixes attractions already consolidated and recognized by the public with newcomers. The band joins Lil Whind (Whindersson Nunes), Priscilla Alcantara, TETO and Francisco, el Hombre who have already been confirmed for the next edition of the festival. The full line-up of the stage will be released soon.

Composed in 2019, at Bar do Dionísio in Curitiba, the Brazilian indie pop band dedicates the hit Acorda, Pedrinho to a frequent customer of this bar for over 20 years – where he used to take naps. In 2020, she was recognized for her versatility, irreverence and peculiarities, and considered “artist of the month” by Apple Music. The song Acorda, Pedrinho, which is part of the album with the same name, became an absolute success and exceeded 25 million plays on Spotify and more than 14 million views in the official clip on YouTube.
