Table tennis World Cup: Dyjas defeated seeded with “two” Harimoto

After the victory in the first duel over Croatian Frane Kojic 4-2, the next rival of the Pole was the excellent 18-year-old Harimoto, considered one of the tournament favorites in the USA. Dyjas made a huge surprise and eliminated the Japanese. In the seventh set, the team from the coach of the national team, Tomasz Krzeszewski, won 11: 9.

Marek Badowski will also play in the second round against the Swede Kristian Karlsson. Earlier, the Polish player defeated the Taiwanese Chen Chien-Ana 4: 1.

The Polish team will play in the 2021 World Championships still in a mix (Natalia Bajor and Badowski, Natalia Partyka and Dyjas – both Polish pairs have won one in Houston) and men’s doubles (Dyjas plays with Belgian Cedric Nuytinck; they are European runners-up). Bajor (second round), Partyka and Anna Węgrzyn (both in the first), as well as doubles in the line-up of Bajor, Partyka (first round) dropped out of the singles competition.
