Taylor Swift received 9 awards at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
MUSIC – She won almost everything. The MTV VMA ceremony took place on the evening of September 12, rewarding international artists for their videos and songs released this year. Pop superstar Taylor Swift was one of the most named celebrities in 2023.
And she didn’t leave empty-handed. The singer of Anti-hero won nine statuettes, pocketing the most prestigious awards: best pop song she received from the hands of NSYNC, and the queen categories of video of the year, song of the year or even artist of the year, a 100% female category.
With her nine victories this September 12, Taylor Swift almost established or at least equaled a record: that of the number of victories for a single artist in a single evening. As recalled Billboardthe record is held by Peter Gabriel who won 10 awards at the MTV VMAs in 1987.

In total since the start of her career, Taylor Swift has won 23 awards at the MTV VMAs. She comes in second place, just behind Beyoncé, record holder of the ceremony who has a total of 29 victories. Beyoncé who was also absent from the ceremony, although nominated in several categories.
During the evening, Taylor Swift didn’t just stand out on the charts. The singer caused a sensation by dancing energetically in front of the medley performed by Shakira, who came to receive a Video Vanguard Award. Taylor Swift also had the surprise of receiving the pop song of the year award from her idols, the members of the group NSYNC. A sequence widely relayed on social networks.
Among the other artists awarded: Blackpink for best group video, Nicki Minaj for best hip-hop video, Maneskin for best rock video, Olivia Rodrigo for best editing, Anitta for best Latin video, Selena Gomez and Rema for best Afrobeats video, or even Sean Combs (Puff Daddy), rewarded for his entire career.
