Mila Kunis talked about That ’90s Showthe sequel series to That ’70s Show, stating that they do not entirely agree with the authors’ choices.
In the episodes of the Netflix project, as revealed in Access Hollywood, Jackie and Kelso are together, thus reuniting the real-life couple of the actress and Ashton Kutcher in fiction.
However, Mila said:
My husband and I are together on the show, and it’s weird why we shouldn’t be together. You know what, I said it was bullshit. I said ‘My character would be together in Fez’. I think she would eventually be paired with Wilmer Valderrama’s character. And I said to Ashton ‘Why are you and I together?’ And besides, he was married to the character of Shannon Elizabeth at the end of the original series, I think.
In the original show Jackie Burkhart was in fact paired with Fez, while Kelso had become a father with Brooke. In the episodes the characters of Ashton and Mila had had a short relationship, however the actress is not a supporter of the couple. Mila pointed out about the characters:
Now that it’s been 16 years later we are married with a son. And I thought ‘I don’t know anything about this story’.
However, the star assured:
That ’90s show is really adorable. Anyone who has seen or loved That ’70s Show will be truly happy.
The cast of the sequel will also include Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, and Sam Morelos. The show will also feature the return of Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, reprising the part of Red And Kitty Forman.
Netflix has ordered the production of ten episodes that will have Gregg Metter as showrunner, while Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, creators of the original show, will be involved as writers and producers in collaboration with Lindsey Turner.
