The “Study of the assessment of the economic situation in the country and Poles’ approach to electromobility” was prepared by Kantar for ElectroMobility Poland. The study was carried out in July this year using the CAWI method and 501 people aged 18 to 60 were tested, 400 of whom had a car.
61 percent When asked about the areas in which the government should invest in order for our country to develop more effectively, the respondents indicated high technologies. For 34 percent. this area is the automotive industry, and for 69 percent development of own technologies from scratch.
– Electromobility is a great opportunity to use the potential that Polish research institutes and universities already have today. The technological revolution brought about by the dissemination of electric drive is an opportunity to implement and market projects that are implemented by scientists and create a completely new specialization of the Polish economy – said Piotr Zaremba, President of ElectroMobility Poland.
For 32 percent of the respondents, electromobility is a market opportunity for the creation of a new Polish specialization. And although 13 percent. believes that we lack experience in the subject of electromobility, to 79 percent Poles want Poland to have its own brand of electric cars.
Tomasz Wierzbiński from Kantar Polska assessed that the idea of creating a Polish brand of electric cars has been on the lips of Poles for several years.
– Research only confirms that this topic is important to them. 8 out of 10 Poles want the Polish government to support the construction of their own brand of electric cars. Poles believe that their own Polish brand will contribute to greater availability and popularization of electric cars and the expansion of the charging infrastructurewhich, unfortunately, is still developing very slowly in our country – he said. He added that electromobility is a market opportunity for the creation of a new Polish specialization.
– Poland is already one of the largest car manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe, and introducing its own brand to the market may contribute to the development and subsequent expansion of domestic technologies – he emphasized.
According to 46 percent of the respondents, the development of the Polish brand of electric cars will result in greater affordability of electricians, and for 40 percent. will affect the speed of building the charging infrastructure. In turn, 20 percent. believes that this will translate into legislative solutions increasing the popularity of electric cars.
Zaremba emphasized that electromobility is a revolution in the automotive industry and economy, and “technological change entails a number of processes in many areas, ranging from the evolution of new business models, through the development of charging infrastructure, to legal and social aspects.”
– The automotive industry is also changing before our eyes, including design, production, purchase and use of cars. In addition, there are also global conditions, such as the requirements related to the implementation of climate policy or the need for energy transformation. These challenges are followed by changes in the legislation, which are to lead to a gradual reduction in the production of internal combustion cars and the transition to electrics. In 2030, most of the cars leaving factories will be electric. This is a very near future, in which we want the Polish brand of electric cars Izera to become part of – he added.
According to the survey, for 35 percent The region most associated with the automotive industry is Silesia. In addition, 72 percent. believes that the planned location of the Izera factory in the Silesian Voivodeship may help to change the specialization of the region.

In the opinion of Zaremba, “Silesia needs a change, and the Izer project will stimulate the labor market in the region”. In total, Izera will contribute to the creation of approx. 15 thousand. jobs in the voivodship: 3 thousand. in the plant itself and 12 thousand. at sub-suppliers. In a broader context, the impulse for Śląski is to be much greater. First of all, Izera will help build a unique specialization in the automotive industry that is strong here, which will allow you to compete on the international market. It will also enable companies to step out of the role of sub-suppliers of components for international corporations and sell the most sought-after solutions on the market today. The investment will also be a magnet for other investors.
The area in Jaworzno, planned, among others for the future electric car factory, it is approx. 300 ha, mainly post-industrial land in the area of ul. The construction of the factory is to start next year. 70 percent the cars produced are to be exported. In the first years, the company plans to sell several thousand. pieces per year.
