There is a good chance that it will be held already September 29, the Los Angeles County Judge will either completely lift the 13-year custody of Britney Spears, or at least remove Jamie Spears from overseeing the singer and her property.
The star’s new lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, however, did not want to wait until September. On August 5, he filed a motion in court to cut off the singer’s father from deciding her financial matters with immediate effect.
In the same document, Matthew Rosengart cited excerpts from the singer’s earlier testimony, in which she told in detail about the shocking conditions of incapacitation. There were allegations of intoxication with drugs, forcing to work beyond strength and obstructing access to medical care, incl. to the gynecologist. One of the accusations that Britney has made from the outset in her testimony is also the mismanagement of her father’s property. This was also found in the application.

“Spears ‘removal from probation is critical to Britney Spears’ emotional health and wellbeing and is in her interest. Each passing day is detrimental to Mrs. Spears and her fortune, “Rosengart wrote in the court papers quoted by TMZ.
These arguments did not convince the court, however, and the singer’s request to postpone the hearing to an earlier date or immediately suspend Jamie Spears until the next hearing was rejected. As reported by TMZ, no specific reason for the refusal was given. Rosengart may re-apply with new arguments next month.
Britney Spears was approved by the court to hire her attorney at a hearing in mid-July when she testified that she believed her rights had been violated repeatedly during the 13-year probation, and that her ex officio attorney had resigned from running Spears’ cases. Matthew Rosengart, who was hired by the singer, has experience in representing famous people before the court – his law firm has previously cooperated with, inter alia, with Steven Spielberg, Sean Penn and Ben Affleck.
