The haunted house: set the release date of the Disney remake
The attraction Haunted Mansion had already inspired a movie with Eddie Murphy, The haunted housein 2003. Directed by Rob Minkoffwas launched in the same year as the first Pirates of the Caribbean, The curse of the first moon. Only the second, however, made a great success. In fact, Disney seemed determined to adapt the attractions of its parks to the big screen, but since then only the Pirates saga has survived. The situation changed with the arrival in theaters of the film Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Bluntwhich proved so successful that it warranted a sequel.
The Phantom Manor hosted at Disneyland Paris and the European version of the attraction and is located in the thematic area Frontierland. Even if the inspiration of the attraction remains, clearly, the same as those present in the US parks, i Disney Imagineering have chosen to expand the mythology and history of the same by connecting it, directly, to that of Big Thunder Mountainthe roller coaster mine train overlooking the lake in front of the gloomy manor. The building is truly an important part of the park, which opened with the inauguration on April 12, 1992.
