The Polish national team in ski jumping is struggling with huge problems. The White and Reds have been doing much below expectations since the beginning of the season, and the Olympic Games in Beijing are fast approaching. This weekend, the World Cup carousel will come to Zakopane. In the capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains, after the break, Kamil Stoch was supposed to fight for the next points of the World Cup, but on Wednesday the jumper from Ząb suffered an injury and will not perform in front of his home audience this weekend.
The injury is so serious that even the 34-year-old’s performance in Olympic competitions is questionable.
As if that were not enough, the charges of Michał Doleżal were again affected by the coronavirus. The Polish Ski Association informed on Thursday that Dawid Kubacki and Paweł Wąsek had tested positive for the presence of COVID-19 in the body and that they would also be missing from Wielka Krokiew at the weekend.
Therefore, ten players will defend our national team’s honor at the facility in Zakopane. At Wielka Krokiew we will see Piotr Żyła, Jakub Wolny, Andrzej Stękała, Alekander Zniszczoł, Maciej Kot, Tomasz Pilch, Klemens Murańka, Kacper Juroszek, Stefan Hula and Jan Habdas, who will replace the injured Stoch.
