Meghan Markle on her 40th birthday announced the “40×40” project, in which she encourages people to spend 40 minutes a day helping women who return to the labor market after losing her during the coronavirus pandemic. Although the Markle initiative was supported by several public figures and even one member of the British royal family, in the expert’s opinion the idea is just an advertising gimmick.
Experts do not support the Meghan Markle project
Meghan Markle’s idea was criticized by experts. According to the Daily Mail, Hannah Martin, a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Women and Entrepreneurship and the Talented Women Club, concluded that Meghan must ensure that her team is made up of the right advisers, because poorly selected coaches may affect the self-esteem of the project participants . Martin also pointed out that Meghan’s initiative “is an advertising gimmick.”
The video promoting Meghan’s action featured the Hollywood star – Melissa McCarthy, known for such productions as “Kochane Kłopoty” or “Bridesmaids”. Among those who have promised to join Meghan are Adele, Amanda Gorman, Stella McCartney, and even the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Sophie Gregoire Trudeau.
The Meghan project was also approved by one of the members of the British royal family – Princess Eugeni. According to “US Weekly” it was Eugenia who was the most sympathetic person at the British court.
Meghan and Eugenia quickly became friends and fellow friends after the Sussexes moved to California. Even the controversy surrounding the interview with Oprah Winfrey did not change that. (…) Eugenia is truly the only member of the royal family with whom Meghan is still close. It would seem that they don’t quite “fit” together, but they still stay in touch.
And you? What do you think about the Meghan initiative?
