the female Frankenstein with Emma Stone

A reanimated Emma Stone and a prosthetist Willem Dafoe are in the spotlight in Poor Things.

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos from a screenplay by Tony McNamara, and based on the 1992 novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray, the film Poor Things follows Bella, a young Victorian woman who, after being crudely resurrected by scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter following her suicide, runs away with Duncan Wedderburn, a brilliant and debauched lawyer, to begin an odyssey of self-discovery and to sexual liberation.
