The first sculpture symposium in Equi closes with a success

The first symposium “Scolpire ad Equi Terme” ended, a full immersion in the art and technique of marble processing, through live artisan sculpture every day from 10 to 24. Started on August 4, the symposium ended Thursday at 16.

At the closing appointment of this debut edition, the mayor Gianluigi Giannetti, the councilors Giovanni junior Poleschi, Francesca Nobili were present. Together with them, the promoters of the event: Angelo Pellini “Pellinetto”, Lunigiana artist from Equi who conceived and financed the project, prof. Alberto Devoti craftsman from Carrara of the 3D Marble Laboratory who supplied the marbles and the material necessary for processing, prof. Enzo Tinarelli teacher of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara.

“A wonderful experience – said the mayor – which saw a notable participation of the public, as well as the great enthusiasm of the participants. After this successful debut, as a municipal administration we will undertake to sponsor a second edition”.

The symposium hosted five young sculptors, all from the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara: Rebecca Fogu, Camilla Cusumano, Gianmarco Erba, Francesco Carapelli, Marco Pani. The students had been selected by the teachers of the Academy, the mosaicist Prof. Enzo Tinarelli, and the sculptor Prof. Francesco Cremoni.

Their works have been donated to the village of Equi and will be permanently placed in the avenue leading to the spa.
