Roadside Attractions has released the first trailer of The Forgivenfilm starring Ralph Fiennes And Jessica Chastain.

The project is a film adaptation of Lawrence Osborne’s novel and is directed by John Michael McDonagh: the work tells the story of the impact of a tragic accident on the life of an English couple, engaged in a weekend of celebrations in a villa in the desert in Morocco.

The film will be available in US theaters from July 1st. You can see the trailer at the top of the page.

The protagonists are Ralph Fiennes And Jessica Chastain (who had already worked together on Coriolanus in 2011). The cast also includes Matt Smith (The Crown), Christopher Abbott (The Sinner), Ismael Kanater (Queen Of The Desert), Marie-Josée Croze (Munich), Alex Jennings (The Crown), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road), Saïd Taghmaoui, Rebecca Hall, Caleb Landry Jones and Mark Strong.

Filming for the film took place in Morocco (it had been paused during the quarantine due to the pandemic).

Elizabeth Eves will be producing alongside McDonagh through their production company, the House of Un-American Activities.
