Arkadiusz Milik has been going through very difficult moments in recent months. When it seemed that his form at the new club was starting to increase and he had settled in for good in the new place, he suffered an injury. She also excluded the 27-year-old from the European Championships in which he was to take part with the Polish national team.
Milik’s rehabilitation took longer than originally planned and his return to the field was protracted. Ultimately, the Pole did not play the first game of the new season until the beginning of October. Since then, he has made a fairly regular appearance on the playing field, but not always in the first squad. So far, he has played a total of 16 games, in which he scored eight goals.
“Will stay”. The French journalist has no doubts about Milik
Despite the rather bullish form of Arkadiusz Milik, the media have recently argued that he is leaving Olympique. The Pole was connected primarily with Juventus, who would be ready to pay up to 20 million euros for him. Such a move, however, is doubted by Fabrice Lamperti, a journalist well versed in the matters of the Marseille club. – What 20 million euros ?! I don’t believe it at all. The first part of the season performed by Arek was not, to put it mildly, impressive. Secondly, such large transfers rarely happen in the winter window. Clubs are making adjustments rather than big reinforcements. The case of Ferran Torres’ transition to Barcelona is rather an exception, not a rule – the French explained in an interview with the WP SportoweFakty portal.

– In my opinion, Milik will stay also because at the moment he is the only important striker for OM. Senegalese Dieng went to the finals of the African Nations Cup and it is not known when he will return. Besides … Yes, Dieng scored a few goals, but he is too young to be a permanent member of the OM first squad. Not this age, insufficient experience – emphasized Lamperti. – Milik is still considered a great sniper. Of course, the requirements are greater than what he shows now, but everyone knows he can do it too. We remember here how Milik started in France. 15 matches in Ligue 1 and 9 goals in the first season made a big impression, he added.
– OM is fighting for a place on the podium, i.e. playing in the Champions League. The entire budget is set for this. But it’s also tempting to win the France Cup, because OM hasn’t won that trophy since 1989. And why not also fight to win in the Conference League? For all this, Milik’s goals will also be needed. Therefore, although anything can happen in Mercato, I think Arek will stay in Marseille at least until summer – concluded Lamperti.
Olympique Maryslia will play their next match on Friday. The team led by Jorge Sampaoli will face Bordeaux away in Ligue 1’s 20th round.
