We cannot separate the body from the mind or spirit, nor heredity from environment, nor reasoning from action and emotion. Everything is integrated and works like part of a gear.
When we smile, the muscles that are activated promote the secretion of serotonin, adrenaline, and endorphins. When this happens, faces and expressions activate brain circuits as well as the heart and other muscles, the endocrine and immune systems, and the entire body and mind.
Research shows that our brains receive signals whenever we smile, frown, or make any gesture with our face. Given this, the body will act accordingly. Like an integrated system, upon receiving commands triggered by facial muscle movements, the brain secretes different types of hormones as appropriate. Smiling, for its part, brings relaxation, releases tension and contractures, and brings a sense of well-being.
Smiling can lower levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, which improves the immune system and prevents disease. In turn, it increases adrenaline, which improves performance and creativity. Likewise, it increases serotonin, reduces sadness, and helps prevent or combat depression. Endorphins (happiness hormones) increase and the entire body becomes happier.
Popular proverbs are sometimes wise, one of which is: Bad weather, good face. The suggestion is that we can put on a good face even when faced with unwanted situations. Smile and reap the great benefits.

We approach those who outline them. Simply seeing photos or movies of people smiling can have a positive impact on the observer’s brain.
On a practical level, we can develop the habit of smiling to ourselves and smiling to others. When greeting someone, when we meet someone, when we look in the mirror. We can smile even when faced with problems or unwelcome situations, even when they feel jarring to us. This will help us improve our emotional state and gain a new perspective. Things don’t change, but our perceptions do. Then, reality changed.
We are advised to smile to gain health and happiness. thereby contributing to ourselves and our environment.
