The iPhone 14 Pro is to receive a hole in the screen for the front camera, but FaceID is to be hidden under the display. This is the first time anyone has ever managed to do such biometrics.
- The iPhone 14 Pro will be equipped with an AMOLED display with a hole for the front camera.
- The FaceID system will be hidden under the screen.
- This will be the first time someone has managed to implement facial recognition in this way.
A rumor repeated many times becomes a fact. Such a statement is not valid when the leaks come from independent analysts in the mobile industry. Another source confirms that iPhone 14 Pro actually it is supposed to offer a display with a hole. Replacing the note from the Cupertino stage with it will of course be hailed as a great achievement. I don’t really see anything wrong with that.
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro – everything we know about the new Apple phones.
Will FaceID on the iPhone 14 Pro be just as fast?
My point is, the hole in the screen itself is definitely not going to be the main boast. I don’t believe Apple considers its users to be such ignorant. Competition has had them for a long time. What is not there is hiding the face sensors under the screen. Hiding the FaceID system under the display is a really impressive achievement.
I mean – it’s not an achievement. Everyone who had a phone with a camera under the screen in their hands has found it out. It is impressive when such a system works. And this cannot be said of any previous model. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is hopeless, and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is not inferior to it at all. Implementing good facial recognition in this situation is really something.
I wonder if it will be able to match the speed of solutions from previous generations of Apple phones. The entire Apple ecosystem is currently based on such biometrics – screen unlock, contactless payments, private folders. I do not believe that in Cupertino they will allow themselves such an experiment if they are not sure of the results.
How does such a phone fall against the (already) last year’s iPhone 13 Pro? It is difficult to say which leaks will turn out to be correct. For now, Apple fans can still boldly direct their steps towards the flagship, because the news is hard to consider revolutionary.
