The Japanese manufacturer of toasters presented … a smartphone. This is the Balmuda Phone

An attempt to find a smartphone on the market, the use of which with one hand will not end with stretching the hand muscles, is bordering on a miracle today. Even Google went to the head of Pixel 6, and so did the rest of the market, opted for larger models. Balmuda, however, does not have great experience in this segment – after all, so far it has mainly produced … toasters. Does such diversification make sense?

It’s hard to say – because on the one hand, the smartphone has Snapdragon 765G supported by 6 GB of RAM, Android 11 on board and a 4.9 “LCD screen with Full HD + resolution, but on the other hand it costs about PLN 3800 (calculated). It’s just a bit more than the iPhone 12.

Perhaps the company wants to take advantage of the fact that there are no small smartphones on the market, hence the price. However, we will see if the company does not miscalculate – for now, the phone is available only in Japan and there is little indication that it will leave its borders.

At the same time, we would like to remind you that the Tech Awards 2021 plebiscite is underway, in which you choose the best smartphones, TVs, games and other new technologies. There are special prizes for voting!
