The official trailer for the HBO Max comedy produced by Eva Longoria

The plot and the cast of Gordita Chronicles

Written by Claudia Forestieri (Good Trouble, Selena: The series) and led by showrunner Brigitte Munoz-Liebowitz, Gordita Chronicles follows Cucu “Gordita” Castelli, a stubborn 12-year-old Dominican immigrant with a heart of gold. Cucu leaves her home and school in Santo Domingo to live in Miami and follow the American dream during the hedonistic 1980s after her father Víctor (Juan Javier Cardenas), a marketing executive at a large airline, is relocated to America. Together with his lively mother Adela (Diana Maria Riva) and his older sister Emilia (Savannah Nicole Ruiz), Cuckoo she takes on the challenges she faces as an immigrant head-on by showing off humor and swagger and making some really bad choices.

Described as a comedy about family, opportunity, love, resilience and bravely challenging the status quo in search of the “American dream”, Gordita Chronicles also includes in the cast Noah Rico, Cosette Hauer And Dascha Polanco.
