This seven-part documentary series that chronicles the exploits of legendary surfers like Kelly Slater, Gabriel Medina and Stephanie Gilmore, as they compete in the World Surf League Championship Tour, debuts in streaming on Apple TV + on April 29.
For the purists (or the more hippies, depending on your point of view) the surf it is something spiritual. But for many it is also competition.
Every year the best surfers in the world battle in the waves of the most famous and sought after spots on the planet and compete to remain in the elite of the world. World Surf League Championship Tourwhich is a bit like the wave surfing world championship.
To tell about these surfers’ businesses in the water, but also their aspirations and challenges in the first place with themselves, but also the hardness, the difficulty and sometimes the danger of that sport practiced competitively at the highest levels, was born an Apple Original docuseries which is titled Make or Breakand that it will be available streaming on Apple TV + starting April 29th.
The seven episodes of the first season of Make or Break (but a second one is already in preparation) will tell the behind the scenes of the WSL CT of 2021, leading the viewer to visit spots like the legendary Banzai Pipeline on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, but also Santa Cruz in California, New South Wales in Australia; Papara in Tahiti; the Taghazout Bay in Morocco; Bali in Indonesia; Tuamotus in French Polynesia and Netanya in Israelalso recounting the tour’s response to the pandemic as well as, of course, the whole surfing culture and topical issues such as diversity and mental health.
Protagonists of the companies on and off the waves, famous champions like the legendary Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmore, Gabriel Medina, Tyler Wright, Italo Ferreira and Tatiana Weston-Webb.
