Paulo Sousa said goodbye to the Polish national team in an inelegant fashion and joined Flamengo, the Brazilian club. There he started building his image, which can be seen, among others, in the Portuguese’s social media. The president of the Polish Football Association, Cezary Kulesza, is in talks with potential candidates for the new white-and-red coach, and among them there are not only Poles. The most sensational characters from the world of football are probably Fabio Cannavaro and Andrea Pirlo.
Cezary Kulesza is looking for a suitable successor to Sousa. “Nawałka would be able to do it”
Much was also said about coaches from Poland. A dozen or so days ago, the favorites were, among others, Czesław Michniewicz, Michał Probierz and Adam Nawałka. The first mentioned coaches were not really taken into account by the Polish Football Association, which was confirmed by Kuba Seweryn, a journalist at Sport.pl. Therefore, Nawałka’s candidacy remains.
Also the players of the Polish national team, including the most experienced ones, are to intercede for coach Nawałka. In their opinion, this would be the best choice in the current situation. – Cannavaro has a big name and may even be a good coach, but he doesn’t have time for such an experiment. We already had Sousa and it turned out to be a big box. Now the priority is to advance to the World Cup and you need to get someone to join the national team on the spot. And Nawałka would be able to do it – says one of the players to Interia Sport.

– Most of the guys believe Nawałka. Those who worked with him know that he is effective and can reach the team. And the younger ones are impressed because he achieved the result for Euro 2016 – adds another team member.
Let us remind you that the new coach of the Polish national team – regardless of which candidate the president Kulesza chooses – will have to prepare the squad for the upcoming World Cup 2022 play-offs. Assuming a positive scenario, a few days after this match we will play for direct participation in the tournament with the won match between Sweden and Czech Republic.
Adam Nawałka led the Polish national team in 2013-2018. At Euro 2016 he reached the quarter-finals with the Polish team. He also managed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. On them, however, the national team suffered a devastating defeat, ending the tournament in the group stage.
