The Polish Order is not only about taxes.  Everyone will feel this change

The Polish Order introduces many changes in tax law, but not only. One of the novelties will indirectly affect all of us, as it introduces the obligation for entrepreneurs to accept non-cash payments.

The so-called Polish Deal has been in force since the beginning of 2022. The new regulations introduce many tax changes. Little is said about one of them, and it concerns all of us.

Polish Order – a change for all of us

Under the Polish Deal, entrepreneurs are required to accept non-cash payments with the use of payment instruments. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fine of PLN 5,000. zloty.

The entrepreneur provides the possibility of making payments in any place where the economic activity is actually performed, in particular at the premises, outside the premises of the enterprise or in a vehicle used to provide passenger transport services, using a payment instrument within the meaning of the Act of 19 August 2011 on payment services (Journal of Laws of 2021, items 1907 and 1814).

What does this mean in practice? If so far your hairdresser or local store has not offered the possibility of paying by card, then from the beginning of 2022 he is obliged to do so. In the case of stationary terminals, the monthly cost is approximately 0.65% of the transaction value plus the cost of the device lease.

In addition, traders have to replace terminals that cannot be connected to an online cash register in order to register all transactions. If they fail to do so, they face an administrative penalty of PLN 5,000. zloty.

While it is not necessarily a pleasant change for companies, it can be a great help for customers. I rarely use cash myself anymore and for this reason I rarely shop in places where I cannot pay with the card. Now there will be no such shops or service providers.
