Hi Nova 9 and Hi Nova 9 Pro smartphones debut in China. Do they look like Huawei smartphones? Yes, because they are essentially! The manufacturer sold a license for the equipment to the Chinese post office, thanks to which they were equipped with Snapdragon with 5G.
Huawei has found a new, brilliant way to circumvent US restrictions. The manufacturer sells a license for its smartphones, thanks to which the phones reach the market under a different brand – so they can be equipped with components that Huawei cannot formally use.
Hi Nova 9, or Huawei undercover
This is also the case with debutants Hi Nova 9 and Hi Nova 9 Pro. Both smartphones are powered by the system Qualcomm Snapdragon 778, of course in the variant with 5G connectivity – I would like to remind you that Huawei itself cannot use 5G processors. It is supported by 8 GB of RAM, and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory.
What else is hidden in the hardware specifications? In fact, it does not differ much from the Huawei Nova 9/9 Pro smartphones.
The basic variant was equipped with a 4300 mAh battery, while the Pro model received a 4000 mAh battery. The first supports fast charging with a power of 66 W, while the second one is 100 W!
Both smartphones run on Android 11 and are also equipped with NFC module for contactless payments.
Now let’s move on to the screens – the smaller Hi Nova 9 received a 6.57-inch curved OLED display, along with Full HD + resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The more powerful Nova 9 Pro is equipped with a 6.72-inch screen, also Full HD + and 120 Hz. There are also fingerprint readers under the display.
Both devices are equipped with a quad camera module consisting of:
- 50-megapixel main sensor,
- 8-megapixel wide angle,
- 2-megapixel macro sensor,
- 2-megapixel depth sensor.
At the front, the manufacturer focused on 32-megapixel selfie camera. In the case of the Pro variant, a second sensor appeared, also 32 MP (wide angle).
