A Twitch user who claims to be in Russia, russiangas1had set up a livestream of a gas machine with all the stoves on for 24 hours on 24, seven days out of seven. The purpose? Making fun of the rest of Europe, in the midst of an energy crisis due to the slowdown in gas and oil flows from Russia and rising prices and inflation. “From Russia with love!” Read a message imposed on the stream by the user, now banned from the platform due to a “violation of Twitch community guidelines or terms of service”. The channel has already been emulated by several other accounts, still active. Created on September 11, 2022, the channel, clearly a troll, has streamed at regular intervals since September 17. The first stream lasted 77 hours straightgaining more than 3,000 followers and peaking 1,896 viewers. Russiangas1which also had a donation linkargued that the constant operation of the stove would only cost him € 1.44 at the end of the month. With minor variations, the stream was still the same: stoves on and an overlay message explaining how cheap it was for Russians to burn gas. In front of the gas machine a thermometerto make the audience understand how hot the room was, and a clock running on the back, to testify that the video was really in live.
