The sanitary passport expires without a third dose. Restrictions in France

The fifth wave of the coronavirus pandemic is passing through France. Therefore, the government announced new restrictions, including expiration of sanitary passports without inoculation with a booster dose.

The peak of the fifth wave of the coronavirus pandemic is expected in France in early December, said Health Minister Oliver Veran at a press conference devoted to tightening sanitary measures in the country.

  • From January 15, the Sanitary Passport will no longer be valid without a booster dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
  • For people over 65 years of age, the passport without vaccination with this dose will cease to be valid earlier – on December 15.
  • From Monday, the validity of negative coronavirus tests will be reduced to 24 hours, compared to the current 72 hours.
  • In France, the obligation to wear masks is also returning in all public places, including outdoors, where there are a large number of people, for example at Christmas markets.

The minister of health also announced that in December, a new anti-coronavirus drug will enter the market, which will be prescribed in the first place to people with the so-called groups at risk.

Medical authorities in France will soon decide on the possible administration of vaccines against Covid-19 to children aged 5-11 years.

Minister Veran again called on the French to get vaccinated, stressing that vaccination reduces the risk of severe coronavirus transmission by a factor of 10.

At the same time he assured that there will be no curfew or lockdown in France.
