The shipment of Steam Deck will start in February – CD-Action

After the November slide good news has arrived for those waiting for Steam Deck. Valve announced that the handheld’s date of entry into distribution is not threatened and will start in a month. As we can read in the official statement on Steam:

We are working to begin shipping Steam Deck devices on schedule. Despite the global pandemic and problems with supplies and transport, it looks like we will be able to hand them over for shipment by the end of February.

The Seattle-based corporation emphasizes that a parallel testing of the Deck compatibility program is ongoing to adapt the games to run on the new platform. The system will introduce four categories of production availability, and Valve provides the hardware to developers for verification:

It is also very important for us to provide developers with the opportunity to test their games in order to obtain the green “Verified on the Deck” badge – that’s why we send so many development kits. We just decided to ship another batch and hundreds of devices have already been shipped in the last month (and this number will continue to grow). We thank the producers for their patience!

Steam Deck shipping will start at the end of February. How will it do on the market? Spikain is trying to answer this question in his video on our channel.
