Thanks to this week’s upfronts, they found out new information on the next product from Marvel Studios, Secret Invasion. Born from the ending of Captain Marvel, the series focuses on Fury’s investigation of a faction of Skrull that has lived on Earth for years, and the show may feature some familiar MCU faces that viewers, over the years, have come to know. Previously, Jackson offered some insight into the show, and how he was able to discover new facets of Nick Fury.
During the upfronts Kevin Feige collaborated with Jackson for the promotion of Secret Invasion: on that occasion things got very interesting, because while the fans knew that the show would be part of the MCU timeline, Feige offered a little more clarity … which caused some confusion. While still committing to Marvel Studios’ policy of offering as little detail as possible, he said the series would take place “during The Blip, when half of the universe was decimated by Thanos and will explore the events that took place in that period”. So if it takes place between Avengers: Infinity War And Avengers: Endgamethen we have a huge mystery in front of us, because even though we’ve all seen that aforementioned post-credit scene, Maria Hill and Fury have been banned.
“There are things I didn’t even know about Nick Fury that I just found out”Jackson explained. “The minds behind what happened during the Blip are fantastic. This is part of what we are discovering now, making the series.”. And those findings gave the actor more opportunities to explore Fury’s personality:
“It’s giving me the opportunity to explore something other than Nick Fury’s toughness. I enjoyed doing it and can’t wait for viewers to hear about those aspects.”.
The Secret Invasion cast includes Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Ben Mendelsohn, Olivia Colman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Emilia Clarke, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, Martin Freeman And Don Cheadle.
