Fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief: the anticipation of the third season of The Umbrella Academy is about to end. Netflix and series showrunner Steve Blackman shared on their respective social profiles a short teaser traileraccompanied by the season’s debut date, which will appear on screens on June 22, 2022.

It was Netflix itself that published a short teaser trailer of the third and highly anticipated season from The Umbrella Academy, based on the comic of the same name by Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá. A short video, only 17 secondswhich anticipates the theme at the center of the episodes that will see the light in June 2022. In fact, in the teaser we see the Umbrella Academy come face to face with a new counterpart, the Sparrow Academy. The series still follows the story of a group of brothers with supernatural abilities born all over the world without warning and brought together by his adoptive father under the hat of the Umbrella Academy. Here they are taught how to use their powers and control them to fight evil in the world and in different time periods.

Along with the teaser trailer and Season 3 release date, Netflix has released the official plot, which helps to understand what we will be facing in the next episodes. After ended the apocalypse of 1963, the Umbrella Academy returns to the present, convinced they have fixed the flawed timeline once and for all, but after a brief moment of celebration, they quickly realize that things aren’t quite as they left them. The components of the Umbrella Academy will have to clash in a violent confrontation with the Sparrow Academyaddressing at the same time a destructive entity which is bringing the universe into chaos. The third season will also see the actor Elliot Page as Vanya, while Tom Hopper is Luther. At their side, we find again David Castañeda in the role of Diego, Emmy Raver-Lampan in that of Allison, Robert Sheehan as Klaus, Aidan Gallagher as Five, Justin H. Min as Ben, Colm Feore as Reginald, Ritu Arya as Lila, Justin Cornwell as Marcus, Britne Oldford as Fei, Jake Epstein as Alphonso, Genesis Rodriguez as Sloane and Cazzie David as Jayme.

Like other TV series, too The Umbrella Academy has been affected by the arrival of the pandemic, which has caused a lengthening of working times in post-production of the new season. Already a few months ago the actress Emmy Raver-Lampman, interpreter of Allison, had indicated the summer as the release period for the new episodes and explained the reasons for the delay in the release of the third season: “I think the new episodes will come this summer, I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait for it. We really did something huge, they have such a strong energy. So, for everyone’s sake, including mine, I really hope they get here as soon as possible. There are a lot of shows delayed due to the pandemic, we had to catch up on a lot of visual effects. I think 12-16 months is normal right now for setting up a new season. We are taking a little longer but I assure you that the wait will pay off”. And on June 22, the fans will finally be paid off.
