The eleventh season of The Walking Dead has recently landed on Disney + (also visible on Sky Q and via the app on Now Smart Stick) and, although it is the final season of the series, the saga is not actually ready for the word to end. It was in fact announced by AMC Networks a new spin-off titled Isle of the Dead. The miniseries will be centered on the characters of Maggie and Neganinterpreted respectively by Lauren Cohan And Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The recently announced spin-off will debut on screens in 2023 in the United States and, according to reports from varietythe first season will consist of 6 episodes. Showrunner and executive producer of the series will be Eli Jorné, former writer and co-executive producer of numerous seasons of The Walking Dead. Former chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe, Scott M. Gimple will supervise the miniseries: “Eli has created a chaotic, beautiful and eerie asylum of the dead for Negan, Maggie and the fans of the show are eager to discover a new and crazy world of the TWD universe. Lauren and Jeffrey have always been amazing collaborators and now, we’re taking that partnership to the next level with a series that will push these characters beyond their limits. We are all thrilled,” he said. Season 1 will see Maggie and Negan travel in one Post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long isolated from the mainland and now a real island. The city is in decay and is populated by zombies alongside some survivors who, however, have made the streets a kingdom of anarchy and terror.
