Thor: Love and Thunder, Christian Bale criticized the green screen used on the set by Marvel Studios: “It was all monotonous.”

During an interview with GQ, Christian Bale talked about his experience on Thor: Love and Thunder. Although he has explained several times that he came on board the project not just because he considered Gorr the Slaughterer of Gods a “intriguing character“But also for the work done by Taika Waititi on Thor: Ragnarokthe actor admitted that shooting in front of the green screens was somewhat monotonousto the point of not even being able to distinguish them from each other:
“It was the first time I did such a thing. I mean, the definition of all this is monotony. There are good people. There are other actors who have much more experience in this area than me. Can you make out the green screen day after day? No, absolutely no. You have no idea what to do. I couldn’t even tell one set from another. They kept saying ‘You’re on Stage 3.’ Well, what is it ?. ‘The blue one.’ They said ‘Yes, but you’re on Stage 7.’ ‘And what is it?’, ‘The blue one.’ My reaction was ‘Um, where?’“
Bale, who often adopts the method acting for his roles, he added of making no attempt to get into the role of Gorr during filming:
“It would have been a pathetic attempt to do so as I would have to ask for help putting on and taking off the fangs or explaining that I had broken a fingernail or that I was tripping over my tunic. “
