Thor: Love and Thunder will explore the breakup between Thor and Jane

There are a few weeks left until the debut of the fourth film focused on Thor and from the first rumors it would emerge that the film tries to give a reason for the break between the God of Thunder and Jane.

She didn’t dump me, you know. I dumped her. It was a mutual discharge ”. So he says Thor (Chris Hemsworth) about his separation with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) in Thor: Ragnarokexplaining Portman’s absence after the roles in Thor of 2011 and Thor: The Dark World of 2013. Eight years, seven months and six days after the breakup, ex-Thor of Asgard and Jane of Midgard will feel love in Thor: Love and Thunder – but this time, mortal Jane wields Mjolnir as the powerful new Thor. Interviewed by Total Film, Hemsworth confirmed that Love and Thunder will answer questions about the alleged mutual abandonment:

“We had a lot of fun exploring this and answering a lot of the unanswered questions from the second film onwards when they split,” explained the Avengers star. “The question has been left rather open and open to interpretation, as to: who dumped whom? What really happened? Did they keep in touch? What were their feelings about the end of this story? We enjoyed investigating all this “.

Jane’s sudden return – and her newfound possession of powers – occurs when the thunder god, back in god form, decides to retire after Avengers: Endgame. But when cosmic villain Gorr (Christian Bale) promises the extinction of the gods, Thor joins forces with The Mighty Thor, King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (Taika Waititi) to fight the threat.
