Thunderbolts: David Harbor unveils the new Red Guardian suit

The Red Guardian (Red Guardian) of David Harbour will be back in soon Marvel Cinematic Universe in Thunderbolts, a team-up movie that will bring together some of the MCU’s best-known villains and anti-heroes. According to Harbor himself, he’s even more excited about producing the film after learning that the Red Guardian will have a new suit within the film.

“I was told I was going to get a new costume. And I don’t mean the ‘F’ word, but I’m really excited about that,” the Stranger Things alum told Marvel.com. “You look at Captain America and you see him in all these different movies, and you see him with the white star and the black star [sul suo costume]. I just want a closet full of tracksuits, and I’m on my way.”

The Red Guardian team includes Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), the United States Agent (Wyatt Russell) and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine of Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Harbor has always been his character’s biggest advocate, stating that there are many stories to be told with the Russian equivalent of Captain America.

“They won’t let you say these things. I wish there were more Red Guardians, and I wish you guys would love there were more Red Guardians because that always helps the cause,” Harbor told Variety about his future in the MCU. “I love the character, there are so many things you can do with him. Is there a 25-year gap where we don’t know who he was, what’s his version of events versus the real one?”.

And he added:

“What happens to him after this movie, and why doesn’t he fight Thanos? Where is it at that time, what happens then? And then later, when [Natasha] dies, what happens? For me it is very interesting and I hope there is interest on other levels, and maybe we will see more ”.

The output of Thunderbolts is scheduled for July 26, 2024.
