Tickets for the League Cup quarter-final between Charlotte FC and Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami are on sale from $203. This is two to four times the price of other matches in the competition.
Miami and the United States are already crazy about Lionel Messi. Following Inter Miami’s win over Dallas on penalties, the Florida team secured their ticket to the quarter-finals of the League Cup, with tickets already selling for a minimum of over $200. The cheapest ticket behind the corner post costs $203 (185 euros) including taxes paid to the reseller site.
It is two to four times more expensive than other meetings for which it is still possible to buy tickets – in this case the round of 16, the other quarters are not yet known. The most recent contest, with a higher price than ever for the match between Miami and Charlotte, of which only two editions are known so far, was won by Cruz Azul (2019) and Club León (2021).
$184 for the next championship meeting
But despite this, Inter Miami’s Drive Pink Stadium was still packed with 21,000 fans, most of whom had come to admire Lionel Messi. A few days earlier, hundreds of supporters had already left the stadium after the Argentine’s substitution against Atalanta in the League Cup.
The craziness of the price must continue. The final on August 19 could reach new heights if Inter Miami takes part. Then it will be the turn of MLS, the American championship, which will resume its rights in which Messi has never developed. There, Inter Miami will take on Charlotte the next day, with tickets starting at $184 (€168). Not everyone is given to watch Lionel Messi play.
