Tina Knowles divorces for the second time
Today, TMZ tells us that Tina, 69, had just started divorce proceedings. She recently separated from Richard Lawson, 76, an actor (very present on the small screen) who shared his life since 2013. They had known each other for three decades because Tina had been the best friend of Richard’s late sister. The couple had married in April 2015 and, for the occasion, a huge party had been organized on a yacht (named Eternity), off Newport Beach, California.
A separation that we had not seen coming as Tina and Richard seemed inseparable and always accomplices. Queen B’s mother cited the usual reasons for filing for divorce “irreconcilable differences”. Which means everything and nothing.
And if she had taken the name of her husband after their marriage, Tina, born Celestine Beyonce, wishes to take over the surname Knowles – that of her first husband, Matthew, father of her two daughters, Beyoncé and Solange, from whom she separated in 2009 after nearly 30 years of marriage. It will also be a second divorce for Richard Lawson, previously married to actress Denise Gordy from 1978 to 1989 and with whom he had a daughter. He also had a son from another relationship.
