“I was surprised that people thought that”
On September 8, Olivia Rodrigo will publish GUTS – his second album. Successor sign of SOUR, the opus is more than expected by fans of the young artist. Carried by effective singles such as Vampire or, more recently, Bad Idea, Right? this new chapter in the artist’s career promises to be more adult but also and above all, more rock.
However, while waiting for the release of GUTS, Olivia Rodrigo confided in Vampire. As you may know, when Olivia Rodrigo released the first single from her album, many fans theorized that maybe Vampire was inspired by Taylor Swift. In an interview with The Guardian, she says: I was very surprised that people thought that,” she told the media. “I never want to say who my songs are about. I’ve never done it in my career and probably never will. I think it’s best not to catalog a song based on just one thing.”
Earlier in the summer, Olivia Rodrigo also expressed to the Julia Show her desire to withdraw the lyrics ” fame fucker ” of the song : ” Some said: “It will isolate you from people, you can’t really say things like that in a song, people won’t recognize themselves…”. To this, the artist also replied: “I think the song is not about fame, but rather about someone manipulative who drains you, who uses you for all that you are worth. I think it’s a universal theme, and I also think fame is more readily available today than it ever has been.”
Patience, GUTS will be available in a few days!
