“Very strange to see Mila Kunis as Jackie again”

It debuted on Netflix last week That ’90s Showthe long-awaited sequel series to the early 2000s cult hit That ’70s Show and starring Eric and Donna’s teenage daughter. Almost all of the cast from the original series returned for brief cameos, including Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunisnow a happily married couple in reality.

Just talking about his participation in the show, during an interview granted to BuzzFeed, Ashton Kutcher said he had strange feelings about the see his wife, Mila Kunis with whom he has been married since 2015, again as Jackieafter so many years since the last time.

At the end of the original series, Jackie and Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) were together, but in the new show we find her married (indeed re-married) to Kelso (Kutcher). In an interview with Buzzfeed, co-author Bonnie Turner shared an anecdote about Kutcher.

He told me, ‘When I woke up, Mila was on top of me and I opened my eyes. I looked around and was in Forman’s basement with my wife staring at the grill [delle luci]dressed as Jackie. It was the strangest feeling I’ve ever had. For a minute I literally didn’t get it [in quale anno] find me‘”.

Seeing one’s real wife dressed as one’s fictitious wife on the set of a show that started decades ago can have this effect, it seems. Co-writer Terry Turner opened up about what it was like to see the two act together again, admitting that for him it was “the icing on the cake of this show“.

The scene between the two came up in the script stage. I wrote that scene in one breath. It’s like it came out of my fingers. I really wanted Ashton to come back and say, ‘Damn, Jackie‘”.

Not all of them returned, however, with fans enraged at the absence of a character from That ’70s Show. All episodes of That ’90s Show are available to stream on Netflix. For more trivia, discover all the songs on That ’90s Show!
