Video: Shaheen Afridi’s first ball came like an arrow, Aaron Finch walked on zero

Lahore: Shaheen Afridi gave Pakistan a fine start against Australia in the ongoing second ODI at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. With Pakistan aiming to level the series after Australia won the first ODI, Shaheen dismissed Australia captain Aaron Finch for zero on the first ball. Shaheen was probably trying to bowl a yorker, but a full toss happened in the middle and leg. However, he still managed to get some movement on the ball as Finch completely missed his flick. As a result, the ball hit Finch’s front leg and the umpire gave him out.

The video of Finch’s dismissal was shared by the PCB on its official Twitter handle. Shaheen, who had missed the first ODI, also dismissed Finch off the first ball in the T20 semi-final last year. Australia lead the three-match series 1–0, winning the first ODI by 88 runs.

Called to bat first, Australia posted a 72-ball 101 from Travis Head, and Ben McDermott (52) and Cameron Green (40 not out) scored 313 for seven. Haris Rauf and Zahid Mahmood took two wickets each for Pakistan.

In reply, Pakistan recovered from the early dismissal of Fakhar Zaman as captain Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq added 96 runs for the second wicket. Imam made a brilliant 103 and Babar also scored a half-century. Pakistan’s team was bowled out for a total of 225 runs. Adam Zampa took four wickets for Australia.
