Villarreal – Barcelona. Barcelona snatched a victory in the end. La Liga

Xavi had the first serious test as Barcelona coach. Blaugrana was supposed to face a participant in the group stage of the Champions League, who, however, is going through a more difficult period in the current league season. The players led by Unai Emery are only 12th in La Liga and it is hard to expect them to join the fight for the Champions League.

Catalonia’s pride also has its problems, but the return of the legend to the coaches’ bench brought victory in the derby with Espanyol, but the Yellow Submarine is a high-class rival nonetheless.

We had to wait for more emotions until the beginning of the second half. In the first part of the game, we watched an even spectacle, but none of the teams achieved a noticeable advantage. Both teams are fighting to catch up with their rivals in the fight for the top four of the table, so you could expect more attempts and situations after the break.

Frenkie de Jong put Blaugrana ahead in the 48th minute of the game, and Barcelona were building up new situations and it seemed they were about to increase their lead. However, the poor positioning of the defenders and goalkeeper was taken advantage of by Samuel Chukwueze, who equalized the score in the 77th minute.

At the end of the match, a fight for a decisive hit could be expected. Blaugrana did not disappoint her fans and scored a goal in the last minutes at 1: 2. In the 88th minute Memphis Depay made the fans ecstatic, and in extra time a goal was scored 1: 3, which was scored by Philippe Coutinho from the penalty spot. Thanks to their victory over Villarreal, Barcelona moved up to seventh in the table and Atletico are only three points behind in fourth.
