Despite the sudden change of director in the middle of filming, fast and furious 10 managed to complete its fourth week of shooting, and its protagonist, Vin Diesel, celebrated the feat by publishing a message of thanks to fans and everyone involved.
Alongside his co-star Nathalie Emmanuel, the star made a quick video, which was shared on his Instagram, where he says that filming the 10th film in the franchise is a small miracle, which was only possible thanks to the millions of fans who follow each feature released.
“We have just completed our fourth week of filming!! So grateful for the brilliant originals, the amazing family that joined us along the way… and I’m extremely excited for you to see the new characters joining this mythology. Blessed and grateful. #bestcastandcrew #Fast10,” he wrote in the caption.
Fast and Furious command change
After the recent events, using the word miracle to define the fact that they are successfully wrapping up another week of filming is certainly very appropriate, considering that production could have been halted after running out of director.
At the end of last month Justin Lin issued a public statement on his social networks saying that he was leaving the direction of the film without giving further explanation on the reasons for making such a decision.
Rumors pointed out that he was having major disagreements with Vin Diesel, as the actor was arriving on set late quite often, as well as forgetting his lines a lot and not being physically prepared for his stunts.
The solution came as the franchise title, fast and furious, with, less than a week later, Louis Leterrier, known for The incredible Hulk and action franchises Rage of the Titans and Explosive cargotaking over as the new director of Fast & Furious 10.
As if the problem had never existed, the film continues its production, including the recent addition of one more member to the cast, the star of ReacherAlan Ritchson, who signed for the feature last week.
fast and furious 10 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 19, 2023.
