Several sources report that Viola Davisthe actress who played the character in this and the DC movie that preceded it, is in talks with Warner Bros. Television to reprise the role in the new HBO project Max.
The Suicide Squad: What do we know about the new spin-off?
No details of the potential second spin-off have yet been revealed by the streaming service. At the beginning of the year, when it became known that James Gunn – director and screenwriter of The Suicide Squad: Suicide Mission and creator of the hit series Peacemaker -, is working on a new adaptation, the same said that it is “another TV series that is connected to that universe”, built around one of the characters of Suicide Squad. We also know that the script is in the hands of Christal Henryrecently behind the scenes of Watchmenand that he will also executive produce it with Gunn, Peter Safran and Davis herself.
If confirmed, it wouldn’t be the actress’s first time playing Amanda Waller on TV. The character appeared in the season 1 finale of Peacemaker (we still remember unpublished in Italy), while the series involves full-time Leota Adebayo, the daughter of Waller, played by Danielle Brooks.
