VMAs 2022 | Nicki Minaj to be honored with the Video Vanguard Award

Through social networks, the MTV revealed that the iconic rapper Nicki Minaj will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in the next edition of VMA.

In addition, the artist was one of the confirmed attractions at the event, stepping onto the awards stage for the first time since 2018. She joins the previously confirmed panic! at the Disco, anita, Marshmello x Khalid and J Balvin.

Minaj has already been nominated for nothing less than 17 times to the award, having won the statuette five times.

Remembering that the Vanguard Award is intended for artists who have contributed, in some way, to the world of music, especially in the audiovisual field.

Bearing in mind that recently the MTV revealed the nominees for the next edition.

Lil Nas X, Kendrick Lamar and Jack Harlow were the great remembered, conquering seven nominations each. The trio is closely followed by doja cat and Harry Styleswho conquered six nominationsWhile Drake, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd were remembered in five categories.

In addition, the Brazilian singer anita also appeared in the nominations in the category of Best Latin Musicas hit “To involve”.

Winners will be announced on the day august 28.
