Wakanda Forever, here is the official trailer

Just over a month until the arrival of Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverawaited sequel to Black Panther (2018) which with a budget of two hundred million dollars had grossed 1.34 billion worldwide. Then, as we know the protagonist Chadwick Boseman had left us too soon and Marvel Studios had dropped a veil of secrecy on the superhero’s future, declaring only that there would be no recasting of Boseman in the role of T’Challa. So who will be the new Black Panther?

New arrivals

After the first teaser (which you can discover above) arrived in July, Marvel hadn’t lifted the veil that hid the plot of the film and even less on the identity of the new Black Panther. Then yesterday came the official trailer that reveals new details.

The trailer opens with what sounds like T’Challa’s funeral, while the voiceover is from Namor (Tenoch Huerta, Narcos: Mexico) who declares that only those who have suffered can be a great leader, followed by his first entry into the scene. Then we discover that Wakanda is threatened by unidentified external forces, but also another entry, Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne, If the street could talk, 2018) or Iron Heart, the girl who built her own Iron Man-style armor and willingly throws herself into the fight. For Iron Heart it’s just the beginning, as she will then have a solo series on Disney +.

In an interview with Empire Huerta has stated that his Namor is not a villain but an antihero, because Latinos have always been portrayed as villains in movies but now they are heroes, or in this case, antiheroes. It will certainly be so, but in the trailer it is clearly stated that Namor wants to invade the mainland (like the brother of a certain Aquaman), he is defined as the feathered serpent god and that if killed he will unleash an infinite war.

Finally, here is the entrance that everyone has been waiting for: Black Panther and at least half the mystery is solved: it is definitely a woman. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is expected to arrive at us on November 9 and will represent the end of Phase 4 Marvel, we leave you with the official trailer in Italian and English.
