Developed by Pixelated Milk and published by Gaming Company, Warsaw is a turn-based RPG video game that incorporates hand-drawn art and centers around a group of fishers who are to be guided in their tough days by players. The game takes place in the war-torn streets of Warsaw, featuring pain and sorrow. Set in the backdrop of the Warsaw uprising, players have to complete objectives and sometimes fight against German forces.

Warsaw is an engaging WWII role-playing game that was released worldwide on October 29, 2020. The game features realistic hand-painted graphics. The game is about assisting locales and soldiers, training them to fight against German forces to get hold of their city back from occupying forces.

Warsaw is a difficult video game, often known to be soul-crushing. It features a war that simply doesn’t allow players to win. Despite featuring a historic event and captivating art, its sheer level of difficulty makes it an extremely depressing and dour game.
What is Warsaw about?

However, lots of players have tried playing Warsaw. They have specifically loved its combat mechanics and abilities, both thematically and tactically. There are various kinds of enemies that players encounter in the game. Players are forced to consider their priorities and take action accordingly. Players in Warsaw aim to build a team that can cooperate and works together to uproot occupying forces and win back confiscated areas by all means.

Usually, in most RPG games, killing groups of enemy forces is the norm. However, in Warsaw, every attack you launch or you face unprepared risks the life of your teammates, including you. If any player dies while fighting, he is permanently dead. Your enemy forces are equally capable and have as much survivability as any of your teammates and often it’s noticed that enemy forces overpower players. Hence, it’s evident that every odd is against players winning in Warsaw and there is hardly any scope for improvement.
Considering all these, it’s best to avoid combats in Warsaw. If you die, not only does your current progress gets deleted, but also your life in the game. The only thing that makes players willing to try out Warsaw is the variety of missions available. Several side quests allow players to earn points and rewards such as assisting civilians to mediate disputes or collecting supplies.
Between missions, players can head back to their base camps to recruit new soldiers to fill in the places of the dead ones in the team. They can conduct researches, gather information about war efforts and the current status of Warsaw districts. Players can also upgrade their skills and enhance their performance rate. There is a chance for players to barter for better items or weapons and use resources to fix broken weaponry.
As we already told, if you die, you die permanently. This implies that avoid combats or taking back steps in dire times is often a wise decision. In this regard, remember that retreating from an ongoing mission means losing your progress made so far. It marks an instant failure to the mission you were undergoing. When soldiers in your team die, you can recruit new soldiers in their place. But well-trained named fighters are only available in between missions or when you are having an edge in an ongoing mission.
Warsaw doesn’t provide soldiers with abundant ammunition. Players will always face a shortage of ammo. Even if you are carrying a backpack full of ammunition, it’s hard to aim at enemies and kill them at one go. So there are chances that you will lose the first few targets. Also, remember that the quantity of ammunition every group can hold is limited. So if the inventory space is already full, you wouldn’t be able to collect any more resources along your way.
Gameplay

Warsaw demands players to utilise everything at their disposal to assist a group of helpless victims in surviving the horrors of the attack. The game takes you back to the time in 1944 when Warsaw was brutally attacked by German forces, bringing the region to ruins. Though the game is tough and it’s difficult to find your way out amongst enemies everywhere, there are interesting features that you would love to know. Below mentioned are some of them.

Organise your team, comprising women, men, soldiers, and civilians, and use your tactics and strategies to challenge and win over your enemies. The game provides surprising opportunities to players as they encounter people from every walks of life and cooperate with them to overthrow German rule.
