Weather: Weekend, we tell you what can happen on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August; the latest updates
Weather forecast for the weekendThe umpteenth is starting hot climatic phase due to the umpteenth advance of the African anticyclone with effects that will last until next weekend on most of Italy. But beware not only hot; between Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 August there will be some storm threats.
The latest updates have confirmed that we will still have to deal with the fearsome over the weekend African anticyclone which is about to cause a heat wave with thermal values diffusely above average.
Between Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 space therefore for the sun; given the sub-tropical origin of the air masses, we expect one new spike in temperaturesespecially on the plains of the North, on the Tyrrhenian sectors of the Center-South and on the two major islands: this will result in new flames with thermometers ready to splash over 34/35 ° C.
There is another aspect to take into consideration in view of the weekend: the strong heat of these days could in fact cause the sudden outbreak of the classics heat storms thanks also to a slight decrease in atmospheric pressure, a classic phenomenon of the summer and difficult to predict, if not immediately after the event. Their trigger is linked to the convective motions that characterize a very hot weather phase between the afternoon and the evening: that is, hot and humid air that rises and cools, condensing into majestic towering clouds. In practice, the strong daytime heating allows the rise of “hot air bubbles” (defined thermal in technical terms) which, if they find the right conditions (cooler layers of the atmosphere at high altitude), are able to give life to those cumulus clouds which then generate the storm.
A major risk according to the latest updates, they could be, sort of Saturday 7, the alpine valleys between Piedmont, Valle D’Aosta, Lombardy and Trentino Alto Adige; we do not exclude that some storms may extend as far as the neighboring plains. Attention then also to the inland areas of Central South and Sicily where some isolated and rapid reverses could be triggered.
It must be said, however, that phenomena of this type, although they may be locally intense, do not last long and therefore are not destined to ruin entire days.
Forecasts for the weekend. Possible thunderstorms especially in the Alps, more sun and warmer elsewhere
