In an effort to continue strengthening its roster and building the best possible team, FC Monterrey has announced the hiring of player Brandon Vazquez ahead of the start of the 2024 Spring Championship.
The Mexican-American forward, who was born in San Diego, California and trained with the Tijuana Basic Forces, has moved to Monterrey on a permanent basis and is under contract until December 2027.
His talent and determination led him to Major League Soccer (MLS) with Atlanta United, where he made his debut in 2017 and went on to win the MLS Cup and US Open Cup.
In 2019, he joined FC Cincinnati and became the American team’s player with the most goals in the year.
In the 2022 season, he became the fourth leading scorer and was selected into the MLS Best Eleven, tied with the American League’s Ideal Eleven.
He won the Supporters’ Shield in 2023 with FC Cincinnati, a trophy awarded to the team with the best performance during the MLS regular season.
Due to his outstanding performance, he was selected for the Major League Soccer All-Star Game, a competition that brings together the best football players in the American league.
Brandon competed with the United States National Team at the 2015 CONCACAF Honduras U-17 Championship and the 2015 Chile U-17 World Cup.
In 2023, Brandon was selected for the US adult national team and reached the semi-finals of the Gold Cup with the team and became the third best scorer in the international tournament.
Now, the striker has arrived in Rayados to bolster Albiazul’s attack, helping the team to score their highest goals of the season.
