This season, the Ski Jumping World Cup will be broadcast on TVN and Eurosport, which are part of the Discovery Group. And it is she who has the rights to broadcast. Today’s competition in Nizhny Tagil will be shown from 4:00 p.m. There are five Poles on his starting list, Kamil Stoch being the main favorite to win.
Why is there no ski jumping on TVP? We explain
After many years, ski jumping disappears from the public television. TVP will only be able to broadcast competitions in Wisła and Zakopane. All other competitions will be shown by TVN and Eurosport by the end of the 2025/2026 season.
– At TVN we have an unrivaled entertainment offer, great series, news unsurpassed in its category, the best breakfast TV, and now, additionally, one of the most important sports events this winter – ski jumping. This is a historic change in our programming offer. Viewers of our main channel and all jumping fans in Poland will enjoy it. We will do our best to see this cult discipline in an unprecedented version – said Edward Miszczak, TVN’s program director some time ago.
Almost all Ski Jumping World Cup competitions have been shown on TVP channels continuously for 20 years, since Adam Małysz’s success in the 2000/21 season. Before that, the 4-Hills-Tournament was broadcast regularly.
From the next season, Telewizja Polska will only show ski jumping tournaments in Wisła and Zakopane, because it acquired the rights to broadcasts in open channels from the Polish Ski Association (at the beginning of 2019, the contract was extended until 2026). However, she did not receive a sub-license to show foreign competitions.
