Why Women Kill was canceled after two seasons, despite Paramount + having announced its renewal in December 2021.
The show premiered in 2019 on CBS All Access before it changed its name to Paramount + and the second season had instead aired in the United States in June 2021.
A Paramount + spokesperson told Variety: We made the difficult decision not to move forward with Why Women Kill season 3. We would like to thank our partners at CBS Studios and Imagine Television Studios, the fantastic creator and showrunner Marc Cherry and the amazing writers, cast and crew for two memorable seasons.

The first season followed three different decades: 1963, 1984 and 2019 and featured three different women living in the same house. The protagonists were Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Alexandra Daddario.
The second season took place in 1949 and in the cast were Allison Tolman, Lana Parrilla, BK Cannon, Jordane Christie, Matthew Daddario, Veronica Falcón and Nick Frost.
Also on the production team were Brian Grazer, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Marc Webb, Samie Kim Falvey, Francie Calfo, and David Warren.
