Idina Menzel gave a very unusual piece of advice to his new replacement in the musical of Wicked on Broadway.
Talia Suskauer will play Elphaba, originally played by Idina, starting on May 24 in the show, and the two met at the The Kelly Clarkson Show this week to exchange stickers on paper.
Idina warned that if Talia drank too much water, she could end up peeing in pants. So that this doesn’t stop her, after all in the theater the show always has to go on, the star advised her replacement to wear very dark tights:
“Make sure you’re wearing some very opaque black tights underneath everything, just in case you’ve had too much water and someone makes you laugh, and you pee your pants. That will hold everything and then you can just get on stage and rock it.”
Idina asked Talia, “Do you feel you have a legacy to honor?”, and the emotional actress said that she feels empowered by all the stars who lived the witch before her:
“What I really feel is the strength of all the women who played my role before me.”

Ariana Grande is ‘the sweetest person’, says actress

The musical spectacle will also get a theatrical release, which was recently announced as a two-part production due to the volume of songs and iconic characters.
Elphaba and Glinda will be played by Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple: The Musical) and the pop singer Ariana Granderespectively.
In a recent interview, Cynthia told a little about the behind-the-scenes of the production, and revealed that she and Ariana created an instant connection, and that they are finding the right energy to interact in the film:
“I can tell you that Ariana is wonderful. We’re both really finding our mood and finding our relationship and really enjoying each other’s time and space and conversations. She really is the sweetest person ever.”
Parts One and Two of Wicked are scheduled for theatrical release in year-end holidays 2024 and 2025.
