Wirtualna Polska – Everything important

Poland’s GDP will grow slower in the coming years, according to the latest forecasts by Credit Agricole economists. For a long time, the driving force was consumption, which will weaken, among others, by high inflation. Experts calculate that the government’s anti-inflation shield will lower the price growth rate by only 0.3 percentage points. for the entire next year.

Before the pandemic, in 2018-2019, the Polish economy grew at a rate of 5-6 percent. She was one of the leaders of GDP growth in Europe. COVID-19 has mixed up a lot and everything indicates that after a clear rebound in 2021, the next two years will be marked by a slowdown .

It will be an uphill run where the pace will begin to decline over time. Credit Agricole economists (CA), in a report published on Monday, on the one hand raised their earlier growth forecasts in 2021 (from 4.9 to 5.2 percent), but also lowered their GDP growth estimates for 2022 (from 4.7 to 4.3 percent) and even lower they set the bar for 2023 (3.8 percent).

“In 2022, we will observe a decline in the rate of economic growth. It will be primarily responsible for this slowdown in consumption related to high inflation reducing consumer purchasing power, the fading away of deferred demand, and historically weak consumer sentiment, CA economists point out.
