On Thursday, another meeting of the crisis management staff on the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border was held at the BBN headquarters. The talks were attended by President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, as well as heads of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and services.
After the meeting at the National Security Bureau, a press conference was organized, during which the details of the talks were announced.
– The current situation at the border was discussed during the crisis management team. President Andrzej Duda is currently going to Brussels, and Prime Minister Morawiecki will pay a visit to Berlin today, said Paweł Szrot, the head of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Poland.
Marcin Przydacz, deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also took the floor. – Nobody wants this situation to get worse. Today is the time when we can send a hard signal that any further escalation will not be profitable, because the unity of the West cannot be broken – said the deputy minister. He stressed that Poland is in constant contact with Frontex.
Przydacz was also asked about the dispute between Russia and Ukraine. – We are observing troop movements around Ukraine. Analysts are also talking about it. This threat may materialize more and more intensively, said the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Paweł Szrot confirmed, on the other hand, that President Duda will participate in the meeting of the Visegrad Group (V4) next week
